Alex KatehakisAlex Katehakis is author of “Erotic Intelligence: Igniting Hot, Healthy Sex While in Recovery From Sex Addiction.”  She has extensive experience in working with a full spectrum of sexuality from sexual addiction to problems of sexual desire and dysfunction for individuals and couples. Alex has successfully facilitated the recovery of many sexually addicted individuals and assisted couples in revitalizing their sex lives.

Ms. Katehakis is a nationally know speaker on the topic of sexual addiction and sexuality. She has lectured for the Society for the Advancement for Sexual Health, the Psychotherapy Networker Conference, and USJournal.  Alex has been a guest expert on Discovery Health, SPIKE TV, HLN, Canal TV in France, as well as national radio programs and live on-line shows such as VocieAmerica and WebMD as a sexual addiction expert. Publications include the Journal of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity (2009), Psychotherapy Networker (March/April 2010), Family Therapy Magazine (2010), Counselor Magazine (July/August 2010).

Ms. Katehakis is the Supervisory Consultant for the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) Certification program and is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). She is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH), certificated as a Sex Therapist (CST) by, and a member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS).

The Center for Healthy Sex offers assessment, treatment and group therapy for men, women and couples struggling with sexual addiction, compulsivity, and sexual anorexia. Additionally we provide individual and conjoint therapy related to sexual desire and dysfunction that are not otherwise physical problems. We use a multi-disciplinary approach to assist people in healing from traumas that may have impeded them from having a fulfilling sexual life and reaching their sexual potential.
